REVIEW: Sun King Bourbon Barrel Wee Mac
More Sun King! Hooray! Now this beer came in a rather unique packaging. A two pack. I don't believe I've ever seen that before. But I do suppose that this is a special beer. From some quick research online this King's Reserve is a banner under which they package a lot of their limited, specialty releases. What we have here is a version of their Wee Mac Scottish ale that has spent a year in bourbon barrels. Sounds tasty to me! To the beer!

REVIEW: Sun King Osiris
The last time I looked at a beer from Sun King it was the Sunlight Cream Ale that I got when I went up to Indy to see Dark Knight Rises in IMAX. That was fun. I should do that again. Anybody know if Pacific Rim was actually shot in IMAX? That movie looks incredible. IMAX is sort of like 3-D for me, If a movie was shot in 3-D or IMAX, I'll check it out. If it's upconverted, like most big action movies that come out are, it isn't worth the extra cash for the ticket. But yeah, Pacific Rim looks insane. Idris Elba fighting Kaiju? Sold. Who wants to go see it with me? Back to the beer. Today we're looking at Osiris, the last of Sun King's core beers and a dry hopped west coast style pale ale. To the beer!

REVIEW: Sun King Sunlight Cream Ale
If you just check the blog every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday you missed a special post I did yesterday in celebration of International IPA Day. I took a look at Double-Wide, a terrific imperial IPA from Boulevard Brewing. If you missed it, check it out. Otherwise, read on!
Back to Sun King. Loyal readers of the blog will remember that not too long ago I talked quite a bit about Indianapolis' Sun King Brewing and a few of their tasty beers. If you missed out on those, check them out here. Today's beer is another one I picked up in Indy last weekend, their Sunlight Cream Ale, which Sun King bills as their most approachable beer. I had a taste of this beer when I visited Sun King's taproom but this is my first time sitting down with the beer proper. To the beer!

REVIEW: Sun King/ Oskar Blues Chaka
Well, this is the end of the Sun King, at least for now. But we're going out with a good one. A Belgian Style collaboration ale from Sun King and Oskar Blues. Oskar Blues is probably the brewery that I am most disappointed does not distribute to Ohio. Their Dale's Pale Ale and Mama's Little Yella Pils are both tremendous beers that I wish I could get more often. But for now I'll just have to settle for this. I'm always excited to see what concoctions emerge from collaborations between talented beers. This beer is also notable for the type of can it's contained in. Oskar Blues and Sun King both can all of their beers but this is the first time either brewery has used this 16 oz resealable can. It's similar to what you may ahve seen being used by Miller Lite or Coors Light. I think it's a safe bet that the beer contained in this can will be quite a bit more tasty than those two. Let's find out. To the beer!

REVIEW: Sun King Wee Mac
I'm keeping the Sunk King love coming. I mentioned in my post on their tasting room that I got a couple of their four packs in addition to the growler of Sky Cake. Today's post is the first of those: Wee Mac Scottish style ale. I had a chance to try each of Sun King's house beers in their tasting room, Wee Mac, Sunlight Cream Ale, and Osiris Pale Ale. All three were tasty, but I enjoyed Wee Mac the most. How does it taste out of that gorgeous can though? To the beer!

Sun King Tasting Room
This past weekend I found myself in Indianapolis for a friend's wedding. I took the opportunity to check out Sun King, a brewery that I had heard a lot of great things about but whose beer I had never had as they don't distribute very far outside of Indianapolis. So while my girlfriend, Meredith, was occupied with bridesmaid duties my friend, BJ and I headed to downtown Indianapolis to check things out.
