REVIEW: Muskoka Cream Ale

This one brings us to the end of the Canadian beers. A bit bittersweet if I'm being honest. I've had a lot of fun looking at these beers. We've had some really good ones and some that were disappointing. All in all though, I've been pretty impressed! I'm going to be super bummed if we end on a real dud though. Hopefully Muskoka's Cream Ale doesn't let me down. To the beer!

REVIEW: Sun King Sunlight Cream Ale

If you just check the blog every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday you missed a special post I did yesterday in celebration of International IPA Day. I took a look at Double-Wide, a terrific imperial IPA from Boulevard Brewing. If you missed it, check it out. Otherwise, read on!

Back to Sun King. Loyal readers of the blog will remember that not too long ago I talked quite a bit about Indianapolis' Sun King Brewing and a few of their tasty beers. If you missed out on those, check them out here. Today's beer is another one I picked up in Indy last weekend, their Sunlight Cream Ale, which Sun King bills as their most approachable beer. I had a taste of this beer when I visited Sun King's taproom but this is my first time sitting down with the beer proper. To the beer!

REVIEW: Anderson Valley Summer Solstice

Another Summer seasonal today. This time from California's Anderson Valley Brewing Company. This is a bit of a different Summer ale. Most Summer beers are wheat ales, pilseners, saisons, and the like. Beers that are lighter, sweet, go down easy and quench the thirst. This one though? On the can it's billed as an ale brewed with natural flavors added. Ale brewed with natural flavors? That's bringing to mind the pumpkin and Christmas ales that are brewed in the Fall with spices added. Very odd. I checked Beer Advocate and they bill it as a cream ale. OK, that makes a bit more sense, but those natural flavors still have me a bit confused and intrigued. Let's see what we have here. To the beer!

REVIEW: Sixpoint Sweet Action

Cream ale. For many this style of beer is typified by beers like Little Kings and Genesee Cream Ale. Lighter macro-brews brewed with adjuncts, workmanlike, nothing really to write home about. Seeing a craft brewer take on this style though, that's something I'd like to check out. Enter Sixpoint's Sweet Action. Checking in at 5.2% ABV and 34 IBUs. To the beer!
