REVIEW: Rising Tide Daymark

One last beer from Trey before I get back to those last couple Canadian beers. Then it's back to the liquor store. Goodness, It's been a while. But anyway, today I've got a rye pale ale called Daymark from Rising Tide out of Portland, Maine. Boy, I really like that label. It's tough to get yellow and white to work together well, but it works here. Sharp stuff. To the beer!

REVIEW: Revolution Repo Man

So Chicago's Revolution brewing has very quickly shot up the ranks of my favorite breweries. Not only are their core canned offerings very tasty, but they have a whole array of bottled beers that are just a bit more out there. As is the case with today's beer. Repo Man, a 6.2% ABV Rye Stout. Which, kind of shockingly, is a style of stout I don't believe I've ever come across. Sounds pretty tasty! Let's not waste any more time. To the beer!

REVIEW: Sixpoint Righteous Ale

The beers I've tried this week have left a lot to be desired. Ranging from bad to mediocre. You'll have that from time to time. They can't all be great. But I need a good one to end the week on. So, with that in mind, I turn to the brewery that has quickly joined my pantheon of all time favorites, Sixpoint. Today's offering is their rye beer, Righteous. Clocking in at 6.3% ABV and 57 IBU. To the beer!

REVIEW: Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye

I think this beer was the first rye beer I had ever had. It was recommended to me by a bartender at Gordo's in Norwood. Gordo's has some of the best burgers in town with a great beer list. Well worth checking out, try the BPJ made with Fried Banana, Peanut Butter, Jelly and Bacon. I know it sounds weird, it's so good. Hey, if you're a reader of this blog you're willing to try some weird and different beers, try some weird and different burgers too! But anyways, I'm rambling, this was my first rye beer. It was a hell of a one to start with. This beer is something special. With that in mind, I grabbed another to review for the blog. To the beer!

REVIEW: Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye

Sorry about the late post today, folks. I was out of town this weekend and forgot to have a post ready to go for this afternoon.

So as I sat down to write this review I found myself having just returned from a run. With that in mind I was looking for something refreshing. No, no imperial stouts today. Sitting near the back of my fridge I found a lone bottle of Sierra Nevada's spring seasonal, Ruthless Rye. A hoppy, crisp, peppery, rye IPA? Ought to be perfect to quench my thirst after a run. To the beer!
