REVIEW: Anderson Valley Belk's ESB

I've had this beer in the fridge for a couple of weeks. I knew I would get to it sooner or later but the decision was made for me when I snagged that awesome glass you see up there. I'm a fan of Anderson Valley and I always dig an ESB. Let's dispense with the pleasantries and just get right down to it. To the beer!

REVIEW: Mt. Carmel Harvest Ale

Alright, folks. Another fall seasonal today. This one is a dry hopped ESB from Cincinnati's own Mt. Carmel Brewing Company. I've talked a lot about Mt. Carmel a lot in the past. You can check out what I thought of their two previous seasonals and various and sundry Mt. Carmel goings on here. This one though, Harvest Ale, checks in at a rather robust 54 IBUs and 8% ABV. To the beer!

REVIEW: Southern Tier Harvest

When folks hear fall seasonal and Southern Tier this is probably not the beer that they're thinking of. We'll get to that one. All in due time, it's coming. But not quite yet, today I'm taking a look at Harvest.  Harvest is an ESB (Extra Special Bitter) brewed with fresh hops. It's cool to see an autumn seasonal that isn't a pumpkin or an Oktoberfest. Not that I don't dig on those styles, I certainly do, but it's cool to see some other styles as well. To the beer!

REVIEW: Stoudts Scarlet Lady ESB

Today's beer is an ESB. ESB is an English style of beer that stands for extra special bitter. And contrary to the name, is not that bitter at all. Most ESBs are much more malt forward rather than bitter hoppiness. This ESB is from Stoudts, a brewery that I have never tried before. But I dig ESBs and I like the label, so I picked it up. To the beer!
